Wind energy turbines are the devices that deal with wind, a certain form of sun's energy. When wind flows, a type of motion energy is created. Wind energy generators are used to process this motional power to generate mechanical energy. On the other hand, wind energy turbines are such wind power processing units that can harness wind resources to produce electricity. Since the latter make use of the latest and the most up-to-date techniques, these turbines are becoming more popular with the passage of time. The water bodies on earth, as well as the different varieties of vegetation on the planet affect the way in which the solar radiations heat up the earth's surface. This process of heating becomes unequal is also affected by the rotational movements of earth, the uneven nature of its terrain as well as the differential amounts of heat absorbed at several atmospheric levels. This uneven heating up of the earth produces kinetic energy, and results in the existence of temperature differences across different parts of the earth. A prime example of this case is the temperature gap between the warm equatorial parts and the frozen, ice-tipped poles. Now, air from the relatively cold areas of the earth continuously flows to hotter regions. The kinetic energy thus generated is then harnessed to produce electricity by the wind energy turbines.
